Design and calculation are two of the services that have brought Strain Engineering the greatest recognition at both a national and international level. The challenges proposed by our work on some very ambitious projects have marked a clear path to excellence in structural engineering.
Thanks to our solid base in physics, our vast knowledge of materials, our command of the techniques and tools used in the most advanced calculations, and our experience in construction and manufacturing, Strain Engineering achieves efficient structures that minimize energetic waste without renouncing our clients' aspirations.
At Strain Engineering we believe that the details of every structure warrant as much attention as its overall calculation. For this reason, we steer clear of universal calculation packages and instead combine multiple techniques and tools depending on the type of project and materials in question. Thanks to this core value, we are capable of generating lightweight, slender solutions that are also safe and durable.
We excel in the field of structural engineering due to our knowledge of structural calculations and our practical experience manufacturing and installing of all types of lightweight structures. Having this know-how allows us to generate solutions that are much more efficient than those that one might attain using a purely structural perspective. Important factors, like minimizing the waste produced during manufacture, are entirely dependent on structural design and can be overlooked in this phase of the project without a deep understanding of raw materials. Strain Engineering is particularly versed in the following structural typologies:
Lightweight structures
Because Strain has computing tools at its disposal for every element and type of calculation, we are capable of producing highly technical results under flexible deadlines. Within the field of lightweight structures, we use CFD software to determine load on complex geometries, FEM software to verify structures in compliance with Eurocodes, CTE and British Standard, FEM software to verify unions and anchoring mechanisms, FEM software for non-linear calculations of both a geometrical and material sort, and software for verifying fixations on concrete.

Building skins
Building skins have been used since antiquity to cover open, well-lit spaces without the need for intermediary columns. Strain Engineering has accumulated a great deal of experience in this structural typology, which allows us to design and measure the most complex enclosures.

Tensile structures
Within the category of lightweight structures, tensile structures are greatly appreciated for their slenderness and transparency. In order to provide services in this field, both theoretical and practical experience is vital. Fortunately, Strain has that experience, as well as a grasp on trustworthy simulation tools that assist in the study of a structure's stability against buckling and capsizing both on a local and global level.

Structural Glass
If there's one material that Strain knows well, it's glass. Thanks to our experience in the field of structural glass and the use of advanced simulation tools that are capable of modelling viscoelastic materials, we design outstanding, robust glass structures.

Structural dynamics
