Strain Engineering in SEWC

Last April, Strain Engineering participated in the Structural Engineering World Congress. At this congress Strain presented the developments made in their two latest projects.

Albert Vidal, Strain Engineering Director, presented the lecture Can glass competes with Acrylics in Large Aquarium Enclosures? showing new structural glass solutions created specifically for the new hippopotamus enclosure for the Barcelona Zoo.

The engineer Núria Guitart, the Project Manager of the company, presented Composite Steel-glass fins for the lobby façade of Iberdrola Tower which she described the steel-glass composite fins of this building designed by the well-known architect Cesar Pelli. Strain has performed detailed engineering which included both manufacturing and testing of prototypes.
